Allergy Specialist Near Al Barsha

Al Barsha is one of Dubai's most established and well-connected residential communities. Home to thousands of families, professionals, and long-term residents, it is also surrounded by some of Dubai's most well-known shopping destinations, hospitals, leisure attractions, and business hubs.

If you or a family member are experiencing persistent sneezing, nasal congestion, skin reactions, breathing difficulties, or other allergy-related symptoms, consulting a dedicated allergy specialist is an important step toward proper diagnosis and effective long-term care.

Dr. Ahmed El-Rafei, Head of the Allergy and Asthma Department at Novomed Dubai Marina, has over 35 years of experience diagnosing and treating all types of allergies and bronchial asthma. He welcomes patients from Al Barsha and all surrounding areas of Dubai.

Common Allergy Triggers in Al Barsha

Several environmental factors contribute to allergy symptoms among Al Barsha residents:

  • Dust and Airborne Particles: Dubai's desert climate means dust and fine sand particles are present in the outdoor air throughout the year. These particles are a common trigger for sneezing, nasal congestion, and irritated eyes.
  • Indoor Air Conditioning: Year-round use of air conditioning in homes and offices can circulate dust mites, mold spores, and other airborne allergens if systems are not regularly maintained.
  • Pet Dander: Al Barsha is a popular residential community for families with pets. Pet dander is one of the most common causes of persistent indoor allergy symptoms including sneezing, itchy eyes, and skin reactions.
  • Food Allergens: Al Barsha has a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets offering diverse international foods. Residents with food allergies may be exposed to common allergens including nuts, shellfish, dairy, and wheat.
  • Pollen and Seasonal Changes: Seasonal changes in Dubai can bring pollen from plants and trees, triggering hay fever symptoms in individuals who are sensitive to pollen.
  • Outdoor Environments: Al Barsha and its surroundings are home to popular outdoor and indoor attractions such as Dubai Miracle Garden — one of Dubai's most visited destinations featuring millions of flowers and large floral displays — and Dubai Butterfly Garden. Visitors and residents who spend time in these environments may experience allergy symptoms related to pollen, flowers, or plants.
